Keith Kirsten Horticulture International Endorses Zeba® For Home Gardeners

BEAVERTON, Ore. (February 26, 2008)

Often called "South Africa's favorite horticulturist," Keith Kirsten is always on the lookout for products that assist passionate gardeners in making their lives easier and their gardens exquisite. The popular radio and TV personality is the driving force behind Keith Kirsten Horticulture International, specializing in the discovery, development and introduction of unique new plants around the world.

Mr. Kirsten's recent endorsement of Zeba®, a starch-based superabsorbent, is not something he takes lightly. "The elusive ideal soil amendment agent that has as its sole purpose the effective retention of moisture in soil has only been a dream for horticulturists," he says. "Zeba has been proven to retain moisture and nutrients for release as needed by the plant."

Mr. Kirsten adds, "Gardeners rely mostly on compost and potting soil as reliable sources of nutrients. The addition of a product like Zeba to one's preferred compost adds value when planting and serves to prolong the effectiveness of the compost, a significant boost to plant growth and health."

Zeba was introduced to Mr. Kirsten by Leon Nagel, Marketing Manager for Zeba at Tongaat Hulett Starch in Johannesburg. The firm has secured the right to manufacture and market Zeba in sub-Saharan Africa.

"The relationship between Keith Kirsten Horticulture International and Zeba proves that two exciting brands can, together, offer gardeners peace of mind," said Mr. Nagel. "Keith Kirsten's strict trial processes and exceptional quality standards protect the gardener from average products entering the market. His endorsement of any product is testament to its quality."

Zeba is the first starch-based soil amendment specifically formulated for agriculture, turf and horticultural use. Developed from cornstarch, Zeba works below the soil surface, absorbing and releasing water to plant roots as needed. By reducing moisture stress, Zeba helps plants establish a stronger root system, resulting in a healthier, stronger plant using less water.
